Especially in Europe, traditional roles of following women and leading men are being questioned, allowing everyone the freedom to lead or follow.
Open to everyone. No dance partner needed and free choice of dance role.
Free Try-out classes (“Schnuppern”) during the first three weeks of each semester: Just come by, no registration necessary.
Your progression
Level 1 (beginner & improver)
à 40 classes
Learn the basics of open and closed dance position, dancing to the music, and comfort, connection & communication in the couple.
We will learn turns from different styles, movements that allow you to move in space, body leading, linear vs. circular movements, and more.
We will adress safer space pratices and explore cultural and historical aspects of Forró.

Level 2+ (intermediate & intermediate+)
continuous course
Master more difficult movements and techniques, including variations and combinations of repertoire from Level 1.
Let’s explore and experiment with more complex movements and dance concepts.
We will continue to work on safer space pratices and learn about cultural and historical aspects of Forró.
This course prepares you for international festivals and further development as a dancer.
Continuous course with changing content: Attend several times to consolidate repertoire and concepts – it never gets boring!
Requirements
Level 1 (beginner & improver): No previous knowledge necessary. Wear comfortable clothes and flat shoes. Level 2+ (intermediate & intermediate+): Completed Level 1 (two semesters / one year); Instructors may adjust assessments.
↳ Who Can Participate: Open to everyone who enjoys couple dancing or wants to discover it. No dance partner needed (we rotate) and free choice of dance role.
After the class
↳ Free Dancing (Dance social): Put your skills into practice on the dance floor and get to know our friendly community – Come and join us!
↳ Prática: An open space to practice what you’ve learned in the classes or try new things in small groups or with a practice partner – Bring your questions and let’s figure it out together!
