3 hrs—Saturday: “Forró Universal”: Fusing elements of Forró Universitario including Roots to create a more comprehensive dance.
3 hrs—Sunday: “Tango Technique for Forró Dancers”: Integrating Tango fundamentals to enhance fluidity, connection, and expression in Forró.
ℹ️ Requirements
- Competency with the basic movements and technique of Forró Universitario and Roots
- Secure in close embrace movements—with and without frame activation
- Open embrace dancing and basic turns, including 5-step-turns
- Familiarity with the simple cross in Roots (Caminhada, Trava)
- Social dance experience of six months+ as a minimum

📍 About Shashi
Shashi has developed his style of Forró through extensive travels, studying with a wide variety of dance teachers. Since 2013, he has attended more than 85 festivals and spent time living in Brazil to immerse himself in the culture.
Shashi’s passion for Forró led to him teaching and DJing at events to share his love of both the dance and the music. As well as travelling the world doing both, he set up Forró Lab in 2019, giving classes in London and hosting workshops with some of his influences such as Hugo Silva and Camila Alves.
Aside from having studied the Roots and Universitario styles of Forró, Shashi is very passionate about Tango and has a background in martial arts, drawing upon these influences to shape his teaching methods.
Shashi views dancing as a deeper form of communication. He focuses on embrace, connection and musicality to help people develop their technique in a way that suits any style and particularly close embrace – such as Roots movements and body isolations.
Through encouraging people to draw on their own personality and creativity, he aims to help them find a balance in dancing for their partner, the music as well as themselves.

Tickets are nonrefundable, but you can transfer ownership by changing your order’s name and email address. The deadline for the change is Friday, 28.02, 23:59.
We recommend only doing so after you’ve received payment from the new ticket holder.
